Andrew Batterham
composer
My music comes from the heart. It combines elements of classical, contemporary pop, and more to create “imaginative and challenging” music that is “accessible to contemporary audiences.” My music can be heard on the screen or live in the concert hall, performed by artists as diverse as the Melbourne Symphony or jazz great James Morrison
Songwriting projects include Amex Music Backer's funding for funk band Speakeasy to record at Melbourne's iconic Sing Sing studios, with the song Straight Ahead winning the Soul & RnB category of the Voyager International Songwriting Competition. Other credits include placing multiple times with the Australian Songwriters Association contest, and music for film and TV. Concert hall work includes ABC Fresh Start funding to record my Trumpet Concerto with David Elton (Sydney Symphony Orchestra), and an ANAM Set commission exploring mental health. The portrait of me is by award-winning Australian artist Jaq Grantford
