ABC Fresh Start Funding

My Trumpet Concerto will be recorded in Sydney by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, thanks to a grant from the ABC Fresh Start Classical Fund.

Australian trumpeter David Elton (Principal Trumpet with London Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra) will be the soloist, accompanied by string players of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. The work was written for David, who will be recording the trumpet and piano version soon, along with the public premiere. David has long been a champion of new Australian music.

The Trumpet Concerto is designed to showcase the talents of one of Australia’s leading classical musicians. It features funk rhythms, minimalism, and wild dance music, with an expressive ballad in between. The sheet music will be published later in the year.
