The Trumpet Concerto recording has received great reviews, paving the way for an exciting premiere later in 2021. Kevin Bonnett at the Music Trust eZine described the music as having ‘striking melodies’ and being ‘accessible to a contemporary audience’, whilst Iwan Fox at 4barsrest.com described it is a ‘showcase concerto’. The piece was commissioned and recorded by the ABC as part of the Fresh Start funding initiative. It was written for David Elton (London Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra), who performed on the recording with the Sydney String Virtuosi conducted by Umberto Clerici. David will give the public premiere of the work in August as part of a Sydney Symphony Orchestra regional tour of NSW.

Wirripang have published the Concerto in both versions: trumpet and strings, and trumpet and piano. Watch and listen here
